Georgia Dobbins -  is alive and well living in Westland, MI,

 

Georgianna Tillman - She was with the group until 1964 but she had fainting spells.  She became a secretary at Motown but married Billy Gordon of the Contours who was rumoured to like 'drinks and drugs' which put her out as Billy was dismissed from Motown in the same year.  She died from lupus/sickle cell in 1980-the cause of her fainting spells.

 

Juanita Cowart - The excuse for her leaving the group was that she said something bad about Smokey Robinson but actually, the group had a #1 hit but they had to stay in horrible hotels due to racism.  It was bad on the early tours and too much for her. I am informed that she is living in Inkster She is married to an attorney and is heavily involved in her church

 

Gladys Horton - She was a "foster child" in a foster home (her mother was likely from Haiti) and joined the group.  She left in 1967 to raise her son Sammy who was born with physical disabilities.  She is not allowed to tour under the name Marvelette as Somebody else owns the name.  She currently works in a hair salon and still wants to tour.

 

Wanda Young - She filled the place of Georganna Dobbins and was the lead singer for many 'hit songs'.  She is now in an "adult care home"  the original story is that she witnessed a shooting, death of a family member and fell apart.  Her 'home' allows visits and she likes to have them '  Very sad....

 

Katherine Anderson  She continues to work for a major hardware chain store (she did not give me permission to give the name).  She also does tremendous work for "kids" as her son was shot and killed in 1980 and she does "whatever it takes" to make sure that kids "Believe You Can Achieve!" she is also living in Inkster.
